Wisdom Tooth Surgery

Surgical removal of wisdom teeth (third molars), typically performed when they are impacted (trapped beneath the gum and bone), partially erupted, or growing at an angle that threatens adjacent teeth.
Impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, infection, cyst formation, and damage to nearby teeth or nerves.
The Procedure:
The surgery involves creating a small incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and bone. In complex cases, the tooth may be sectioned (cut into smaller pieces) for easier removal through a smaller opening.
The area is thoroughly cleaned, and the site may be closed with dissolvable stitches.
